Eureka 4870DT Upright Vacuum

Equipped with a true HEPA filter, this 1,440-watt upright vacuum cleans a 15-inch path illuminated by a headlight and keeps the dust down at the same time. The HEPA filter is at least 99.97 percent effective at trapping particles as small as 0.3 microns. Another filter protects the motor. The vacuum has a stretch hose that gives tangle-free reach to its onboard tools (an upholstery nozzle, a dusting brush, and a crevice tool). Consumer Report was right: It is a best buy.
The only problem so far is the handle release toe button: really hard to work.

Good Vacuum: strong suction, sturdy construction, but a little difficult to use

Looks and feels sturdy, has very strong suction. It's a little heavy though, and some of the controls are difficult to use --for example, the foot switch which releases the handle from the upright position is so hard to depress that my wife stugggles to depress it!

Awesome vacuum,Awesome price

I bought this vaccum because of its ranking in a popular consumer magazine, and because of all the great reviews. This one definitely lives up to its billing.

It has great suction power. I have two cats and have had previous problems with other vacuums sucking up the hair. Not with this one. The attachments are great and have good sucking power.

The only draw back to this vaccum is that it is heavy. However, I don't mind that a bit since it does such a great job on carpet and wood floors.

I HIGHLY recommend this product. I convinced my brother and sister-in-law to purchase one as well. They said it made their carpets "just like new again." They have also been very pleased with the product.

The best griddle I've ever used

I was hesitant to purchase this griddle after reading one reviewers thoughts about using it on a ceramic top stove, but went ahead because I had a gift certificate. And boy am I glad I did! This has become one of mine and my husband's favorite pieces.

First, the griddle is HUGE! It will not fit in the oven, but that's fine by me. We use this griddle for everything from bacon, eggs and pancakes on Sunday mornings to grilled cheese, hamburger, chicken, fish and more on weeknights. It's great to be able to make six or eight pancakes at a time! Now the whole family eats sooner!

The pan has great heft and the non-stick surface is great. There is a deep chamber all around that pulls fat away from your food. It's very easy to clean too!

The pan works just fine on a ceramic stove cooktop (the kind without raised burners). It heats evenly and stays put.

The only problem I have with this pan is that it is so large, I need bigger cabinets. I think I will just ask my husband for a larger house!

Price is one thing. Quality is OK, but this product is made in China unlike many of my other Calphalon pieces that are made in the US. You get what you pay for.

Good for the money but...

I noticed some surface imperfections, nothing too major but the quality is not the same as my All Clad grill pan that I bought for $100. Box was beat up also in case you were thinking about giving this as a gift. Still a really good deal though.

Great size, not goo big, not too small. GREAT POT!!!

I really LOVE this pot. It's such a great size for my family of 4 (2 adults + 2 kids under 5yrs). It sits PERFECT on the back burners. (after the kids, I only cook on the back burners, just in case. :) I love the fact the lid locks into the pot. I received the pot for about 10 days now, and I have been using it almost everyday! I even used it as a wok to cook Chinese stir fry, and no problem at all! I purchased the pot when it was on sale at Amazon.com for under $22, so I know I got a GREAT DEAL.

After reading the other reviews on this pot, I found a cheaper price and bought it at Linen's and Things with 20% off coupon. I have only good things to say-it is well made, cleans up easily, locking lid works well, and it is so nice not having to use a separate colander! I use it at least two times a week. This would make a great gift as it is *much* nicer than the cheapie pasta pots that were all the rage a couple of years ago.

Great Pot

I recently bought this pot and am in love. The straining feature is so convenient. No more carrying hot pots and draining in colanders. Food cooks evenly and cleans up easily. The locking lid allows you to serve food at the table and even store things in the fridge. I highly recommend this pot.

very satisfied user of PUR filters

I have been using this filteration system for 4 years. One summer, I even took this filter with the pitcher to visit my family in India. I usually come down with a bout or two of stomach upset when I am visiting India. This time I did not have any problem. In the US the filter has performed very well. After the "new filter" taste goes away, the water tastes very good. My children never had any problem either. I don't know how cost effective it is over delivered drinking water, but it is certainly more convenient for some one like me who has back problems and cannot lift heavy 5 gallon water bottles.

Makes for Better Taste, BUT....

It doesn't remove chlorine (just the taste and smell -- see updated package), neither does it remove flouride, which regardless of what you hear, has NEVER shown any positive benefit to being added to our water. It just makes heart patients unable to drink it safely. Unit price also has increased again and the product is disappearing from store shelves in 3-pack.

Where can one get water that's just water?? In my opinion this filter is better than nothing, but still a far cry than bottled spring water. I want the chlorine and flouride out. If you want to do some interesting reading, do some responsible research on the web about flouride.

Ultimate Pitcher Review

I live in Southern California where the quality of water can vary greatly depending on where you live. Generally speaking, its not too great! Ever since getting the Ultimate Pitcher I have been very satisfied with my purchase! Its easy to fill and fits conveniently in my fridge. The taste at room temp is good but when chilled, its as good or better than anything I've had out of a bottle! It may seem a little pricey at first, but like my daddy always used to say, you get what you pay for! You will not be disappointed with your purchase!
